Eric Peterson

MA, LPCC, LADC

Eric is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with extensive training in psychedelic integration and ketamine-assisted therapy. He focuses on treating addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and helping with sports performance issues. He believes that developing a safe and secure relationship with each of his patients is essential for them to learn new ways of thinking and behaving, to find meaning and purpose in their life, and to move towards creating a whole and complete sense of self. Eric’s approach to personal change is informed by acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, transpersonal psychology, person-centered therapy, & somatic approaches to healing.

Using primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with other techniques, you will learn to increase your awareness and attention to patterns of thinking and behaving that are keeping you stuck in life. By developing helpful skills to change the way you respond to difficult thoughts and feelings, you can learn to have a more relaxed, creative, and flexible mind & body.

Eric also enjoy helping athletes with their mental health and developing mental performance skills to help them succeed. You can learn pragmatic skills to consciously activate the “flow state” and learn how to control your attention for peak performance. We also can focus on learning how to manage difficult thoughts and feelings that may be holding you back. If you are an athlete and want help with the mental side of your sport, please reach out to learn more on how you can develop psychological skills to improve your performance.

Eric also helps fathers who struggle with mental health and have difficulties being present with their families. Life and work can be stressful, and our minds will constantly be holding on to these thoughts and ambitions. When we aren’t giving our loved ones our full attention and energy, we aren’t being fully present for them. Learning to develop useful mindfulness and relaxation skills, while connecting your behaviors with core values, can be an effective way to show up for your family that feels right to you.

In addition to the above services, Eric also offers consultation and training for ketamine assisted psychotherapy. If you are needing help or wanting to get trained in this area of work, please reach out to discuss. When Eric is not in his therapist role, teaching, or giving presentations, you can find him running ultramarathons, downhill/cross country skiing, rollerblading, or taking his dog, Harley, for a walk.
